Beyond the Title

In past internship experiences, some colleagues would talk to me in a condescending tone because I was an intern. Similarily, I’ve lead teams in the past as a Director and Co-Chair and others would seem intimidated or treat me with high esteem.

Something I strive for is to treat people beyond the title. Whether you’re a successful serial founder or just starting out your career, I try to treat everyone equally. I’ve been in both positions and I think we all just want to be treated like normal people.

Besides, you can’t build a friendship if you look down on someone or put them on a pedestal.
