Chicago Menswear Stores I Recommend
Notre (West Loop)
Notre offers a diverse selection of high-end, vintage, and streetwear styles. While not strictly considered a trendy store, it’s probbaly the trendiest option on this list. The store features a full wall dedicated to a wide variety of sneakers. In the back, there is a section focused on vintage denim, graphic t-shirts, and overshirts. Notre also carries sought-after brands such as Bode, Visvim, and Acne Studios.
SVRN (West Loop)
Walking into SVRN feels like I’m walking into a clothing art gallery. The space was designed by a Korean architecture firm and the owner placed artifacts from his travels all over the store such as a volcanic rock from Hawaii. Their collection is high-end designer and avant garde with brands like Rick Owens and Acne Studios to the well known Japanese brands like Yohji Yamamoto, CDG, and Issey Miyake.
Mildblend (Wicker Park)
Mildblend, a Chicago-based store, is known for its extensive collection of Japanese denim, touted as the largest in the Midwest. Mildblend carries brands that are not readily available elsewhere, such as Big John, Edwin, and Momotaro. In addition to their denim selection, the store also offers a wide range of vintage Americana pieces from brands like Beams, FDMTL, and Studio D’Artisan.
Independence (Wicker Park)
Independence focused on vintage Americana similar to Mildblend, but with less emphasis on denim. Their offerings include classic brands such as Kapital, Engineered Garments, and the up and coming 11.11.
