Curiosity Beats Experience

Whenever I step into a clothing store, I’ll browse, feel, and inspect the details of the different pieces. I’ll ask the staff questions as well. I often get asked if I work in fashion. Which I find funny because I only got into this in the past year.

I’m reminded of this saying, if you love it, you’ll teach yourself. If you don’t love it, others will teach you.”

I’ll hear stories of Ryu Fukui, who taught himself piano and released a popular album in six years later, or John Moffat, who taught himself Physics at his local library and is now a professor at the University of Toronto.

While they may of not been classically trained, their curiosity drove them to learn and a faster rate than their peers who are formally educated.
