Adios South America!

I’ll miss the organized chaos and the hectic streets of Bogotá and Lima.
I’ll miss the Hola Chicos” that literally every tour guide greets us with.
I’ll miss (attempting) to speak Spanish and sounding like a child.
I’ll miss the ceviche, the empanadas, and the cheap yet delicious street foods.
I’ll miss the cheap Colombian beer, the pisco sours, and the Inca Kola.
I’ll miss the smiling Alpacas and the friendly and well kept street doggos.
Maybe I won’t miss sleeping at hostels and waking up at 3am to someone with explosive diarrhea dropping bombs in the bathroom next to my bed.
I’ll miss the indigo sunsets, the waterfalls, the lush green rainforests, and the Andes mountains lurking in the background.
I’ll miss the scorching heat of the Colombian Coast, and the chilly evenings of the high altitude Peruvian cities.
I’ll miss the warmth and hospitality of the locals.
I’ll miss the spontaneity and the openness necessary as a solo travel.
And I’ll definitely miss the people. I’ll miss exchanging stories after dinner over a cold beer, I’ll miss the camaraderie of conquering a difficult hike, I’ll miss the collective wonder we felt of experiencing South America together.
I’ll miss Colombia. I’ll miss Peru. I’ll miss South America.
But I will be back.
Until then, hasta luego South America.
