Art is Life Compressed

I was at an Artist Flea Market in Brooklyn today and I asked one of the artist whose work I admired how he develops his taste. I loved his answer:

“I’ve seen dope shit all my life. My art work is the accumulation of that experience.”

He expanded on that bit. Explaining how Harlem, his hometown, is the epicentre of black culture. How there’s art everywhere in New York in the form of fashion, graffiti, and more. And how he finds inspiration in everyday life.
