Elon Musk and Twitter

If you’ve been keeping up with the news lately you’ve heard of the Elon Musk and Twitter situation.

I’ve enabled Twitter notifications for @elonmusk and I feel like I’m following a reality TV show. Seeing many of the decisions Elon’s made such as the 8$/month verification and firing half his staff had me scratching my head.

This week he sent an ultimatum to the remaining employees, commit to working in an “extremely hardcore fashion” or leave. More than 75% of the remaining 3000 employees opted to leave.

I hope I’m overreacting but what started as a satire looks like it’s turning into an existential threat to one of the most important platforms on the internet.

I hope I’m proven wrong.
