Evolving Tastes

It’s interesting how ones taste changes over time. For example, in elementary school I listened to rock and 90’s hip hop. My favorite artists were Queen, Gang Starr, and A Tribe Called Quest.

In high school, I listened to jazz and anything that sounded like it (hip hop jazz, bossa nova, etc.) I would bump Theolonius Monk, George Gershwin, and Nujabes to name a few.

While I still enjoy songs from my previous phases, recently I’ve been enjoying psychedlic rock, folk, and contemporary classical. Think Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, and Brian Eno.

My tastes are influenced by experience, cultural environment, and the people around me. I want my tastes to keep changing, I believe this is a testament to my open-mindedness. I wonder how my tastes will change in the future.
