Hell Yeah or No
One of my favorite decision making frameworks is Derek Sivers’ hell yeah or no:
If you’re not feeling “Hell yeah, that would be awesome!” about something, say no.
There are few decisions which I’d say hell yeah to. When I do say hell yeah I know I’m committing to the best ones. This makes it a quick and powerful framework for choosing what to focus on and staying focused. I much rather concentrate on a few things and do them well, then do everything poorly.
I find this especially useful for bigger decisions: What goal should I focus on? What job should I take? Should I hire this person or not?
