Kill It at Its Peak

Back in Summer 2021, I started a weekly writing club with a few friends.

As summer came to a close, there was momentum and I was asked if we could continue past Summer. I thought about it for some time, and I decided not to extend it beyond summer. Past experiences with writing clubs that attempt to prolong after the official end date often lead to an inevitable slow death as members lose enthusiasm and priorities shift.

We ended things on a good note when we were at our best, so we have positive memories with no awkward ending.

Sometimes it’s better to kill things off at its peak.
