Anthony Bourdain interviewed Calypso Rose, a renowned calypso pioneer, in an episode of Parts Unknown dedicated to Trinidad & Tobago.

Bourdain asked a question that has stuck with me, “Is making beautiful things enough?”

And Calypso Rose responded with a resounding, “Yes, making beautiful things is enough.”

Making beautiful things is enough. That’s a line I’ll never forget.
