Musicians on the Titanic

Amidst the chaos of the sinking Titanic, the musicians onboard the ship stayed behind and played “Nearer, My God, To Thee” to hopefully calm the crowd; one of the most heart-wrenching scenes in the movie. The musicians could’ve tried to save themselves but instead they stayed behind. And in an act of selflessness they did what they could to help others, and died doing what they loved.

Turns out, this was a true story as confirmed by many of the survivors. The musicians were all recognized by their heroism, rightfully so.
