Never Self-Reject

Early in life, I constantly rejected myself.

I wouldn’t apply for the job because I lacked the credentials.
I wouldn’t ask out the girl because I assumed I wasn’t what she was looking for.

Then, in May 2021, while in the middle of my last internship hunt, I made a promise: I would never self-reject again.

Not for a job. Not for a girl. Not for a creative idea. Nothing.

I decided I’d rather face the pain of rejection than the pain of regret.

That mindset has served me well. It’s where my agency comes from. Whenever I feel that sting of doubt or fear, I take it as a sign I’m heading in the right direction—and I leap anyway.
