Now and Then

The Beatles released their final new” song today, made possible by technology despite John Lennon and George Harrison having passed away. AI was used to isolate Lennon’s vocals from a poor-quality cassette recording from 1977 in a way that was previously impossible. The producer George Martin and Paul McCartney created a new arrangement, while George Harrison’s guitar sections were re-recorded and Ringo Starr re-recorded the drums.

In last year’s Spotify Wrapped, The Beatles were one of my top 5 most played musicians. I love the simplicity, catchiness, and positivity of their music. What a gift it is that I can experience the feeling of listening to a new Beatles track thanks to technology.
