Participating in Meetings

At work, I’m guilty of cleaning up my slack and email inboxes during meetings. By the end, I didn’t add to the conversation or learn new information. I might as well have not been there.

A mental shift for me has been going into a meeting with a purpose. Maybe I genuinely want to learn about Personas during this marketing onboarding meeting, or maybe I have a few items to discuss that I want to bring to the team. If I don’t have a purpose going into a meeting, or it isn’t clear what value I bring, I might as well not attend.
