Pivotal People

Confidence in ourselves and in our abilities is everything.

One of the most destructive things we can do is say to a young person that they can’t do it. You are too stupid, you don’t have what it takes, you’ll never amount to anything.

One of the best things we can do is to get a young person to believe in themself. If we believe in someone before they even believe in themself, this can completely change their trajectory.

Many of us had that pivotal person in our lives, the person that said that we could do it when we thought we couldn’t. I’m lucky to have these pivotal people in my life. Unfortunately, this is a luxury many people don’t have. But we can all be that one person to someone else.
