Playing God

When people are dying and you can only save some, how do you choose? Maybe you save the youngest. Or the sickest. Maybe you even just put all the names in a hat and pick at random. Would your answer change if a sick person was standing right in front of you?

Playing God is an episode on what transpired at Memorial Hospital in New Orleans during Hurrican Katrina. The doctors and nurses are literally “playing God”, choosing who lives and who dies.

This one is a tear jerker and sickening at times, what a terrible position to be in. Yet, the subject of hospital triage is one faced by the doctors and nurses in Northern Italy and Wuhan.
