Slow Magic
A new store called Savant Studios recently opened near my apartment. Intrigued, I went inside and spoke to the employee working there, asking what Savant Studios was all about. We ended up having an hour-and-a-half conversation covering topics like fashion, creativity, cultural differences between Toronto and New York, and what it’s like being an African-American artist, amongst other topics.
What stood out to me was our discussion about the tension between creating your vision and creating for others. He shared one of Savant Studios’ core philosophies, “Slow Magic”.
Creating something truly novel that resonates with others is “magic.” However, this magic takes time to build - there are no shortcuts. It requires patience and dedication to craft something unique and beautiful.
This resonated with me, as it aligns closely with my own philosophy of building with integrity, and prioritizing slow, sustainable growth.
