Chinese World Map

In my freshmen year of University, one of my good friends was an international student from China. He told me that the world map he was used to seeing back home had China at the center.

Growing up, I’m used to seeing Europe at the center of the map. In China’s map, they are at the center, China’s name roughly translates to Middle Kingdom after all. In China’s map, they are the main character, Europe and America are casted off to the side.

In interesting how even the world map can be eurocentric ideals.
