The “Waiting in Line” Test
You’re going to a popular jazz club with a friend.
The line is long. The bouncer at the entrance said that the wait would be around 2 hours.
When waiting in line with a friend, the time can pass quickly or slowly. If you and your friend become engrossed in conversation, the two-hour wait may feel like it goes by in an instant. But, if you’re not as engaged, the wait can feel much longer.
I call this the “Waiting in Line” test. If you can wait in line with somebody and have the time go by instantly, they pass the test. This can be a telling sign of compatibility and whether you’ll enjoy spending time together.
