The YouTube Man

Every once in awhile I’ll come across stories that make me reconsider what’s possible.

Julius Yego’s story is one of them.

Born in Kenya, Julius took an interest in the Javelin throw at a young age. But with limited resources and no formal training, young Julius would go to the internet cafe and watch YouTube videos of his Javelin idols and replicated their techniques. Eventually becoming a World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist at the event.

Julius’ story is one of determination, resourcefulness, and the power of the internet to teach yourself anything.
