Turning Lemons into Lemonade

The last four days my apartment had no hot water. I could stress myself out but instead I turned it into my advantage. I used this lack of hot water it as a forcing function to go to the gym in the morning where I can use their shower after a workout.

In a previous internship, I was working in the Bay Area making just enough money to rent. I turned my circumstances in my favour as I was forced to budget and meal prep. Two habits that are core to my routine today.

At another internship, my product mentor and my manager both left the company less than a month into my internship. I saw that as a huge opportunity to increase scope and ownership.

Wherever there’s a failure, shortcoming, or constraint is an opportunity for growth. Turning these seemingly disadvantages into advantages has been the story of my life and it’s served me well.
