Time off in school was easy to come by. At the end of a school semester, we’d get on average at least 2 weeks off. If we had a summer semester which was normal at Waterloo, we might even get a month off.
Even the first month of school, most of my friends, me included, didn’t take it seriously the first month. Some wouldn’t even show up the first week or two.
Vacation days is one of the biggest differences I noticed after graduation. While it’s awesome that I get my evenings and weekends to myself. I don’t have the time flexibility that I did in University. Getting a week, let alone two weeks off is a rarity that happens once a year at most.
This is one thing I took for granted when I was back at school.
