Why Arabic Culture is so Welcoming
Arabic culture is famous for its hospitality and generosity. I experienced this myself growing up. I had a few Arabic friends growing up, and whenever I go to their house, their parents would make sure I was well fed before going home.
In a recent interview Tim Ferriss podcast interview, Derek Sivers tells a story about a similar experience he had with an Arabic friend who let him stay at his residence in the Burj Khalifa for as long as he wants. He learned that the earliest habitants of the regions, the Bedouin people, would traverse the desert and go days without human contact. It was a huge relief for travelers to arrive at a desert camp after a long journey and they were welcomed warmly with rose water, coffee, and dates.
