Seth Godin had a beautiful pilot episode to his podcast Akimbo, in it he said:

The Italians have a wonderful phrase, Salto Mortale’, the dangerous leap, the leap into the void. The fear we get in the pit of our stomach before we commit, fear that it’s not going to work out. It’s too soon. I am not ready. And so we wait…

I too feel scared. I too feel as if maybe I’m not ready yet.

This piece needs to be perfect, are you really going to publish this? I’m not a good enough writer. How will others judge what I say? Do I have anything worth saying? This is my internal dialogue as I’m about to click publish.

But over the years I’ve learned to use this fear as a compass. All the most worthwhile decisions I’ve made scared me at the beginning, and for me this is something I need to do, above all, for myself.

So I’m not going to wait.

Starting today (January 1st, 2020), I’ll be writing everyday for a month (February 1st, 2020). We’ll see where it goes from there.

Why am I doing this? I write to clear my thinking, to grow, to explore and to share.

What will I be writing about? Simply whatever I want to write about. Whether that be technology, art, something I learned, etc.

Let’s see where this takes me.

Let the wild rumpus start!
