Artist Over Entrepreneur

Back in college, I wrote Aspiring Entrepreneur” as my LinkedIn headline - something I cringe at when I look back. I wanted to be an entrepreneur like many of my peers; I was attending a tech university and found myself drawn to the students who ran their own startups. Before college, I had never considered starting my own business, but as a freshman, I was eager and ambitious. I found myself gravitating towards entrepreneurship as a result of mimetic desire.

Authenticity and self-expression have been integral values for me since college. I initially pursued tech and company building as an outlet for my creativity, but at the beginning of 2020 I took some time off and discovered a love for writing. It occurred to me that writing was a more pure medium of expression than entrepreneurship.

I still love using technology to solve problems and learning about businesses, but making art is what makes me feel alive.
