Build Relationships with Local Businesses

I love living in Williamsburg because of its abundance of small businesses nearby. From a thrift shop hosted in a garage to a Tibetan clothing store to a high-end stationary shop and everything in between.

Small businesses have character. The people that work there care. Often they are also community spaces as much as a place for business.

Learning the names of local shopkeepers, restaurant servers, and cafe baristas helps me become part of the community and brings the neighborhood to life.
