Community is a Multiplier of Reputation
Inspired by Derek Sivers
I often hear advice of trying to be in the smartest room possible. And while I do agree with that, I think your reputation within that “room” is underrated.
Weak Community | 1 |
Good Community | 100 |
Great Community | 1000 |
Brilliant Community | 10000 |
No Reputation | 1 |
Weak Reputation | 5 |
Good Reputation | 10 |
Great Reputation | 20 |
To calculate the value you receive from a network multiply the two.
The best network with no reputation is worth 10000 points.
The best network and the best reputation is worth 200000 points.
The network and communities you join matter. But the reputation you have within that network matter too.
