Do The Thing Only You Can Do
While I enjoy my current job, I sometimes feel like there are many other people who could do it just as well. My manager, on the other hand, feels irreplaceable. She’s deeply invested—thinking about work even in her free time, drawing from her years as an end user of our product, and she has many of our customers on speed dial.
It makes me wonder: what’s the one thing only I can do?
For me, it comes back to menswear, community, and writing. Those are the things I think about most in my free time, and they’re where much of my network is rooted. Over the years, I’ve followed my curiosities and developed my skills, and I’m starting to see the unique intersection of what I’m good at, what I love, what the world needs, and what I can get paid for.
