Don’t Worry About Voice

I was working on a longer form piece and I got feedback on my draft from Kasra that I need to work on my storytelling.

I was working on a historical piece and found it hard to inject my voice.

He told me not to worry about my voice and pretend I was talking to a friend instead.

Following his advice, I copied my draft into Gmail and pretended as if I was educating my friend on this topic.

Voice isn’t something that can be forced. Instead, it’s blocked. Blocked by our need for perfection. Blocked by the resistance.

One must let go in order to find your voice.
