Fourth Verci Retreat

I’ve been part of a creative community in NYC called Verci pretty much since I moved here. This past weekend marked our fourth retreat in upstate New York.

The group consists of about 30 people. I know maybe 30% of them well, but what I love about these retreats is the bonds they create. By the end, there’s a sense of camaraderie from the shared experience and memories contained with this group.

It’s a late afternoon, I wanted a moment of solitude so I sit on a balcony overlooking the Catskills mountain. Right now, there’s a group in the hot tub, another group of musicians jamming and freestyling, another group painting.

My friend K joins me on the balcony just as the sun is about to set. I set my laptop aside and choose to be present with K, soaking in the moment.
