How to Be Interesting
Note: I don’t consider myself to be the most interesting person out there but here are my thoughts on the subject anyway
To be interesting means to be unique. How to be unique?
Consume different inputs. If you consume the same stuff as everyone else, you’ll think like everyone else. Listen to music no one else listens to. Watch movies no else watches. Read books no else reads.
Unique experiences. How does one gain unique experiences? One way is to do the thing you’re afraid to do. Most people stay within their comfort zones, fear acts as a barrier. For the minority that does what they’re afraid of, they’ll be rewarded greatly in experience and growth. This compounds as they learn that fear is often a good indicator of what you should be doing.
Be a walking juxtaposition. Have two traits that people normally think of as opposites. For example, be both a nerd (smart) and a jock (fit). Be ambitious, yet rational. Be productive, yet present.
Follow Your Curiosity. Curiosity is a trait we all inherently have as children, but it gets beaten out of us through years of formal education. Returning to that child-like curiosity is key to living an interesting life.
