I Come as One but I Stand as Ten Thousand

In Oprah’s conversation with Maya Angelou she said a line that resonated with me, I come as one but I stand as ten thousand.”

Everything’s led up to this present moment.

I may be alone right now, but I’m the product of everyone I’ve met and everyone that came before me. My parents, my siblings, my grandparents, my cousins, my uncles and aunties, my friends, my teachers, my classmates, my coworkers. Whether they’re still in my life or not, they’ve left their mark on me.

Every accomplishment then, is not an individual accomplishment but a collective one.

There’s no challenge I face alone.

I come as one but I stand as ten thousand.
