Meetings Don’t Suck
I’ve long held the belief that meetings suck. It’s such a common sentiment that it’s practically a workplace meme.
But this belief has been harmful. It makes me dread meetings before they even happen and drains my energy while I’m in them.
I want to change that.
Meetings don’t suck.
Meetings are an opportunity to connect with my coworkers—people I’m fortunate to like.
Meetings are an exchange of ideas.
Meetings are a way to make decisions quickly.
Sure, some meetings are stressful. But it’s often those high-stakes conversations that get my heart racing and make me feel most alive.
Meetings don’t have to suck.
Especially when I’m leading one, I have the power to make it productive and even joyful. And that starts with shifting my own mindset.
