Peripheral Opponents

NBA Hall of Fame coach and executive, Pat Riley, said that there are many off-court opponents that affect the teams chance of winning. Of course the main opponent is the other team. But there are other factors involved such as ego, fame, press, ex-wives, etc.

The analogy goes beyond basketball. Maybe you’re competing against other candidates for a dream job. Or maybe you have an unrealized dream because you’re “busy”.

In the pursuit of any dream or goal, there will be peripheral opponents along the way.
