As I’m communicating features I built to our Go-to-Market team and customers I’m learning the power of positioning statements. Positioning statements are one liners that help others understand quickly what your product or feature does such as “Uber for X”, or “Airbnb for Y”.
For example, the way I describe the company I work for is we are Google Earth for your construction job site. Through drone technology we give you a birds eye view of your job site. And with 360 cameras we give you a Google street view of the m interior of your job site. Thus, providing a full reality capture solution for General Contractors.
When I pitch it to customers in this way, they instantly understand the value prop of our product.
