Tell Me What To Do
My product designer had to leave a meeting early this week because he was getting fitted for a suit. I caught up with him later that day and I asked him how it went. He told me that the clothier asked him what fabric he wanted, what lapel type he prefers, and how long he wants his pants. My product designer was overwhelmed. Unless you’re familiar with classic tailoring, most people aren’t going to know the answer to these questions. Instead, the clothier could’ve recommended what would look best based on his build, hair color, skin undertones and what occasion he was getting fitted for.
I find when many of my guy friends ask me about fashion, many of them don’t know what they want. They know they want to look good, and for many that’s enough. They don’t want to go down the whole rabbit hole. They want to be told what to do.
