Where Do My Ideas Come From? Part 1: Subconscious Brainstorming

My best ideas don’t happen when I want them to. They don’t happen when I sit down at my desk trying to brainstorm.

My best ideas come in the shower, when I’m driving, while I’m working out at the gym, during an afternoon walk, while I’m dreaming at night, waiting in line at the coffee shop, when I’m eating a meal, in conversations with friends.

My best ideas come when I least expect them. My best ideas are almost always unintentional. It’s as if I’m subsciously brainstorming.

When they do come, I make sure to write them down or else I might forget them. This is how I brainstorm ideas to write about.

When do your best ideas come to you?
