A Few Notes on Louis Vuitton FW24 Show
With Pharrell as creative director, Louis Vuitton’s menswear shows offer a blend of performance art and a glimpse into upcoming fashion trends.
This year’s show has an American Western theme, featuring cowboy hats, boots, oversized belt buckles, and flared jeans. I’ve noticed a growing trend of cowboy boots in particular in NYC. The collection reminds me of Ralph Lauren’s RRL and the Americana-inspired Japanese brand, Kapital.
Although I understand and admire the appeal of American Western style, it doesn’t align with my personal taste. The loudness of many pieces and their lack of versatility make it less appealing to me, though it may grow in me over time.
